Lately we have been having fun playing around and experimenting with different colors of stains, dyes, pre-treatments and hardwax oils. We’ve come up with some great color combinations. I thought I\u2019d share some of them with you to give you some inspiration for your own floors.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/p>\n

When it comes to hardwood flooring, many people are happy to stick with the tried and true traditional stain selections that have been around for many decades. They can be a very good choice too. The reason they\u2019re popular is because they work and are classic colors.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But we are also lucky enough to have some very cool clients that are willing to try new things and change up the norm. When we showed each of the clients the new color combinations we had come up with they were ready to jump in and try them out on their floors.<\/p>\n

In this article we have 6 new colors to show you…<\/p>\n

\"Weathered<\/p>\n

The first one pictured above we call \u2018Weathered Oak\u2019. It\u2019s a blend of three processes and is finished with OSMO hardwax oil<\/a>. We think it looks really cool. In person it looks even better. It\u2019s a rustic, weathered bluish-grey color. It would look great in a traditional setting but would also work really well with modern d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n

The client we did this for absolutely loves it.<\/p>\n

The next color we call \u2018Bloody Mary\u2019…<\/p>\n

\"Bloody<\/p>\n

Pretty easy to see why.<\/p>\n

That is one bold looking floor! This deep, rich red color is definitely not going to be for everyone but if you want something that stands out then this could be it.<\/p>\n

Again it\u2019s a mixture of three processes \u2013 dye, stain and hardwax oils. This floor was also finished with OSMO hardwax oil for the top coats.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our third color is called ‘Triple Black’…<\/p>\n

\"Triple<\/p>\n

This color is made from 3 different color layers. The first is Rubio Pre-Color Easy<\/a> Intense Black. Then Rubio Monocoat Charcoal was applied. Lastly we put Black Universal Maintenance Oil on top to get that extra bit of black depth.<\/p>\n

\"Triple<\/p>\n

This is one dark floor. It looks stunning in the right setting.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The next color is ‘Fumed Super White’…<\/p>\n

\"Rubio<\/p>\n

This floor has an aging treatment applied called Rubio Monocoat Fumed. The tannins in the floor react to the fume product and turn a darker, aged shade.<\/p>\n

Then we applied Rubio Monocoat Super White over top to achive this classy, modern grey shade.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The fifth new color we have been working on below is called \u2018Black Oak\u2019…<\/p>\n

\"Black<\/p>\n

This color is one of our favourites. It looks very classy. It\u2019s a combination of a pre-treatments and stains and finished with Pallmann Magic Oil<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is fast becoming a very popular color choice. Below are a couple of other floors we used \u2018Black Oak\u2019 on…<\/p>\n

Our last color to show you today is called ‘White on Brown’…<\/p>\n

\"White<\/p>\n

It’s a mixture of Rubio Monocoat<\/a> 5% white applied over the top of Mystic Brown Pre-Color Easy. It’s a very classy and modern looking matte floor. One of our favorites.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
