WILLOWBROOK STAINED RED OAK HARDWOOD FLOOR RESTORATION:
THE CLIENT: Tina Luttrell – Willowbrook, Illinois
THE JOB: Tina and her husband had just moved from Florida to Naperville and purchased a town home. It had beautiful red oak installed… but the finish left a little bit to be desired as it was quite worn out.
There was also a 4ft half wall dividing the dining from the living room which needed to be removed. Once it was, there was a large void in the floor. Instead of lacing in new oak over a big area, Tina liked the idea of installing a walnut border to visually divide the dining area from the living area. Not only does it look great… it saved a considerable amount of money for them as well.
THE SPECIFICS: The stain Tina chose is 25% Spice Brown. We applied our 3 coat Pallmann Pal-X96 water based finish system.

A friend, at work, recommended Tadas Wood Flooring, when we decided to renovate a recently purchased older home. The existing floors looked like pine stained with a very light blonde, almost yellow finish. My husband, at first, wanted them torn out and replaced. When we found out how expensive it was to replace wood floors, we entertained the idea of refinishing. ORLAND PARK RED OAK HARDWOOD FLOOR AND CUSTOM STAIRCASE REFINISHING:
THE CLIENT: Arch Remodeling – Orland Park, Illinois
THE JOB: This was a brand new custom designed house with 2,800 sqft of new red oak installed. It also had a beautiful hand crafted staircase handrail – designed and built by the very talented owner – as the homes show piece. We sanded and refinished the living room, family room, kitchen, dining, 5 bedrooms and staircase. This was a fun and interesting project for us.
THE SPECIFICS: The floors and stairs were kept the natural color and were coated with Synteco acid cure finish. This project was completed a few years ago before the new VOC laws – we don’t use this finish anymore because of the high fumes and smell.

ORLAND PARK RANDOM WIDTH FRENCH WHITE OAK DISTRESSED FLOOR REFINISHING:
THE CLIENT: Arch Remodeling – Orland Park, Illinois
THE JOB: This was another project for Arvydas. These floors are beautiful random width french white oak. They were distressed and then stained before being coated. The project was about 400sqft comprising of the kitchen, dining room and living room.
THE SPECIFICS: The floors were stained with Golden Brown and then finished with OSMO Hard Wax Oil.

NAPERVILLE WHITE OAK HARDWOOD FLOOR REFINISHING:
THE CLIENT: Asked to be withheld – Naperville, Illinois
THE JOB: This client was getting ready to put their house on the market. As you can see from the before pictures below, the hardwood floors need a bit of work to get them presentable.
There was an area that needed 6 boards replaced before the white oak was sanded and refinished in the kitchen, entry hallway, dining room and powder room.
THE SPECIFICS: Our 3 coat Pallmann Pal-X96 water based finish system was used.

DOWNTOWN CHICAGO MAPLE HARDWOOD FLOOR STAINING PROJECT:
THE CLIENT: Arch Remodeling – Chicago, Illinois
THE JOB: This hardwood floor refinishing project was in a 9th floor of Chicago building right downtown. The floors in the bedroom and closet were installed to match the maple flooring in the rest of the 650sqft apartment.
It was a bit of a challenge as Maple floors always are as they are the hardest floors to stain evenly. This floor turned out great as you can see in the pictures below.
THE SPECIFICS: The Maple floors were stained with Bona red mahogany stain and then we applied our 3 coat Pallmann Pal-X96 water based finish system.

STAINED RED OAK HARDWOOD FLOOR RESTORATION IN LOCKPORT, ILLINOIS:
THE CLIENT: Jeff Rimsnider – Lockport, Illinois
THE JOB: This was a 10-15 years old house with beautiful red oak installed throughout. It was in pretty dire need of a face-lift though as you can see from the pictures below.
We refinished the hardwood floors in the family room, bedroom, office, kitchen, hallways and entrance. In the kitchen there were a few water damaged boards under the refrigerator that we needed to replace. The office only had a hardwood border with carpet in the center, so we removed the carpet, added a walnut border and installed new red oak in the center area. You can see the results in the picture with the blue walls below.
Also we had Remis (our stair guy) install new red oak stairs to the basement, which we finished to match the floor. All up this fun project took us 7 days to complete.
THE SPECIFICS: The stain Jeff decided on was Nutmeg Brown. We applied our 3 coat Pallmann Pal-X96 water based finish system over the entire floor.

HINSDALE PLAIN SAWN RED OAK HARDWOOD FLOOR REFINISHING:
THE CLIENT: Doug, MDG Builders – Hinsdale, Illinois
THE JOB: This was a big 3,000sqft project in an amazingly designed $1.7 million home. The home had 3 1/4" plain sawn red oak throughout the living room, dining, kitchen, family room and the 5 bedrooms. As you can see from the pictures below, the stained floor turned out looking great and Doug was extremely pleased with the outcome.
THE SPECIFICS: The floors were stained with 50% Rosewood and then finished with 3 coats of oil based finish. This was before the new VOC laws when oil based finish was still good. We no longer use this type of finish. You can read why in our Free Report: "How To Choose A Hardwood Floor Finish".

HARDWOOD FLOOR SANDING AND REFINISHING IN GLEN ELLYN, ILLINOIS:
THE CLIENT: Michelle and Tim Blomeke – Glen Ellyn, Illinois
THE JOB: Tim and Michelle had just bought this great house in Glen Ellyn and decided some renovations were in order before they moved in. Part of the renovation included sanding, staining and refinishing their 1600 square feet of hardwood floors in the 4 upstairs bedrooms and the living, family and dining rooms downstairs. As you can see from the pictures below (and their testimonial), the floors turned out great.
THE SPECIFICS: The hardwood floor was stained Dark Walnut. We coated the floors with our Pallmann Pal-X96 water based commercial-grade finish system... 3 coats upstairs and 4 coats downstairs for extra durability.

HARDWOOD FLOOR REFINISHING PROJECT IN GLEN ELLYN, ILLINOIS:
THE CLIENT: Waterson Family – Glen Ellyn, Illinois
THE JOB: This was a small but fun job. The kitchen had numerous areas that needed to be repaired before we could start sanding and refinishing. We sourced red oak that matched the existing flooring perfectly. Once the repairs were completed we refinished the kitchen, mud room, entry, hallway and a set of stairs. The whole project was about 450sqft.
THE SPECIFICS: The floors were stained with 50% Ebony and then finished with 3 coats of OSMO Hard Wax Oil.

BERWYN STAINED RED OAK HARDWOOD FLOOR RESTORATION:
THE CLIENT: Rosemary – Berwyn, Illinois
THE JOB: Rosemary has a beautiful historic home that was built in 1918. But after many years of use the 92 year old red oak floors needed some sprucing up. There where two areas that needed to be repaired and we sourced old growth red oak to match the original flooring. Once the repairs were finished the floor was sanded, stained and refinished with a high end finish system, bringing it back to life and in better than original condition. Rosemary should get many, many years of use out of her beautiful new/old floors.
THE SPECIFICS: The stain Rosemary chose is Golden Oak. We applied our 3 coat Pallmann Pal-X96 water based commercial grade finish system.

Tadas provided a thorough and very professional estimate, describing all my options. The written estimate provided specific information about the products he uses, which are all high quality.
He made the repairs, sanded, and stained the first day. The second day he applied the base finish and one top coat. The third day he applied the second top coat. The final day he returned to install primed shoe moulding, which I painted to match my woodwork.
I will hire him to do the rest of my maple floors. Wonderful experience - one of the best contractors I have ever used.
Everything went very well and he did exactly what he said he would do. They were very neat and clean. They offer a premium "no dust" cleaning system (at an added cost) but since I was doing other renovations I opted for the standard cleanup. There was very little dust left behind and it was easy to clean afterward.
I will hire him to do the rest of my maple floors. Wonderful experience - one of the best contractors I have ever used.

GROOVED HARDWOOD FLOOR RESTORATION IN GLEN ELLYN:
THE CLIENT: John and Mary Nurse – Glen Ellyn, Illinois
THE JOB: John and Mary had an old, aged and yellowed kitchen hallway and bathroom floor that didn't match their newly installed pre-finished floors installed in all the other rooms in their home. We were asked to come in and see what we could do to restore them before the desicion to rip them out was made.
As you can see in the pictures below, we were able to bring them up to better than new condition so they matched the rest of the floors. It was fun dealing with all of the big grooves but they turned out great.
THE SPECIFICS: We applied Pallmann-X340 primer and our 3 coat Pallmann Pal-X96 water based finish system to very closely match the look of the existing pre-finished hardwood.

I highly recommend Tadas Hardwood Flooring for any restoration project you may have. I recently purchased a home that was in great need of hardwood floor repair. I Google searched and came up with several companies and had several estimates given. Tadas was the most professional, had the best equipment, had competitive rates, and seemed to be the most informative as well. So we decided to go with him.
The finished product is amazing! I have already recommended them to two of my neighbors as I was so impressed with the floor.
The process went smooth and Tadas fit my project into his schedule. I trusted him and his staff in my home alone for a week to do their work. This was one of many projects that I have had done since the purchase and I can honestly say this was a pleasant experience. The whole process took approximately 5 days and constant contact was maintained throughout the process keeping me informed on a daily basis of what was going on and when they would be there.
The finished product is amazing! The floors came out way better than expected and literally changed the look of the house.
We went from a natural color to a darker red tint. I was incorrect when I figured with refurbishing something old you couldn’t get the type of brand new look we did. When my wife and I were remodeling our kitchen, we seriously considered ripping the old floors out and installing new hardwood. There were scratches and imperfections everywhere from furniture being moved and from the pets of previous owners. Ultimately, we decided to save a little money and have the floors refinished. HARDWOOD FLOOR SANDING AND REFINISHING PROJECT IN PLAINFIELD, ILLINOIS :
THE CLIENT: Cy Mahnke – Plainfield, Illinois
THE JOB: Cy and his wife wanted to restore their worn and scratched red oak flooring throughout their home. They also decided to get rid of the carpet in their office and replace it with new oak to match the rest of the hardwood floors.
After installing the new flooring in the office, we sanded and refinished all the floors in the kitchen, entry and hallways and of course the office.
THE SPECIFICS: Cy wanted to go for a natural poly look, but in a water based system to cut down on the smell and fumes... so we first coated the sanded floor with Bona Amber seal to give it the rich poly look he was after and then top coated the floor with 2 coats of bona Mega satin. As you can see from the pictures it looks very similar to a deep, rich polyurethane finish.

We have a lot of hardwood flooring in our home and after 11 years it was time to refinish the floors which were showing the normal wear and tear of scuffing, scratches and dull areas. Since moving into our home 4 years ago, our hardwood floors had been a concern. They were worn, scratched, and not the color we would prefer. When we finally decided to "take the plunge" and have the floors restored, we weren't exactly sure where to go.
They were easy to work with, reasonably priced, and more than anything else clearly took pride in their work. Great experience from start to finish!
When we came across the Naperville Hardwood website, we were impressed by its detail and comprehensive explanation of the process and decided to call for an estimate. While we had a few different estimates, we felt Tadas was the best choice. He walked us through the process and answered our many questions with patience! When the project began the entire team was extremely professional, prompt, and friendly. Their attention to detail was wonderful.
Despite the fact that our entire first floor was being refinished, the impact on our daily activities at home were minimal. When we were having some trouble determining the exact stain color (going from light to much darker), Tadas brought in multiple samples, pictures, etc. to help us get a clear idea of what would look good in our space.
